Dr. Erin Shortlidge is an Associate Professor of Biology in the Biology Department at Portland State University in Portland, OR.  Her research focuses on biology education, with a particular interest in course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs), the training and experience of graduate teaching assistants, and the development in students of a sense of belonging in STEM.

Dr. Diedra Wrighting is Executive Director of the ADVANCE Office of Faculty Development at Northeastern University in Boston. She has served as the Manager of Student Research Training for the UMass Boston-Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center partnership for career development and was previously a Postdoctoral Associate at the Broad Institute in Cambridge, MA.  Dr. Wrighting holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard Medical School, a master’s degree from San Francisco State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Howard University
