To become eligible for the Member Applicant rate, applicants must first apply for membership and pay the appropriate membership fee for their category. Early Registration: Registration must be received by October 3, 2019, for registrants to qualify for the early registration rate. There is a significant discount for early registration (see below). Registration is nontransferable. Participants are not registered for the meeting until their registration fees are paid in full. Note: Abstract submission fee payment does not include meeting registration.

Regular Registration: Registration for the meeting at the regular rate will be available from October 4 through the end of the meeting. Registration is also available onsite from December 7-11 at the regular registration rates listed above.

NOTE: Your registration fee depends on your membership status at the time of registration. If you become an ASCB member later, we are unable to provide a refund for the difference.

The ASCB offers one-day meeting registration for the Annual Meeting. If you are unable to attend the entire meeting, you can choose to pay for a single day. Your meeting badge will be valid only for the day you select during the registration process.

If you are a community college teacher or high school teacher, you are eligible to receive free registration to the meeting. If you are an ASCB Educator member, click on the blue "Register Now" button above and it will take you through the registration process. If you are not an ASCB member, please contact ascbinfo@ascb.org so we can verify your credentials and provide you with a coupon code.

Cancellation Policy

Meeting registration is nontransferable. Meeting registration is nonrefundable after November 15, 2019. The organizers will honor requests for refunds if they are in writing and are received by the ASCB no later than November 19. Please note that cancellations are subject to a processing fee of $20 for students and $40 for all others. No refunds will be issued for requests received after November 19. Please send a request for cancellation to ascbinfo@ascb.org.

Please Note: Registration refunds will not be issued after November 19 for denied visas*.

*If attendees from other countries are experiencing difficulty obtaining visas in a timely fashion we are happy to work with them on a case by case basis. In a June statement after the Supreme Court endorsed the Trump travel ban, ASCB stated it would "help provide documentation for visa waivers to attendees from the 7 countries" and "If they are unable to obtain waivers, we will fully refund their registration and abstract fees."

Badge Replacement Policy

Attendees who lose their badge may pick up another one from the Badge Replacement counter in the Registration Area. Attendees must show a photo ID and pay a fee of $15. If an attendee loses the second badge, the attendee will need to re-register for the meeting before receiving another badge. You may pick up a replacement badge during the attendee registration hours:

Guest Badge Policy

The ASCB and EMBO allow guests (defined as a non-scientist family member or non-scientist friend) of registered attendees. If you are a registered scientist who would like a non-scientist family member or friend to see your invited talk or poster presentation, please visit the ASCB Meeting Management Office, Room 102B, in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center during the meeting to check out a guest badge. The guest badge will only be valid for the day and time of the presentation and will need to be returned afterward. Badges that are not returned will be charged the full conference fee.

Child Attendance Policy

Children of 2019 ASCB|EMBO Meeting attendees are welcome to attend the Meeting with their parent or guardian as long as the child is under the supervision of a parent or guardian at all times. Parents or guardians may bring children under the age of 17 to educational events provided the child does not disrupt the event.

Strollers are allowed in the meeting rooms as long as they do not block aisles or emergency exit doors. Strollers are also allowed in the Exhibit Hall, with the exception of set-up and dismantle times*. Parents and guardians are asked to keep in mind corridors, meeting rooms, and the Learning Center can become crowded. Please be aware that small children in strollers are at the same level as someone carrying a poster tube, bag, briefcase, umbrella, or other object.

Badges will not be issued to children under the age of 17.

*Under no circumstances are children under the age of 17 allowed in the Exhibit Hall during set-up and dismantle times. This includes children of exhibitors.
