One of the most stressful parts of being a scientist is waiting for grant applications to be reviewed and, hopefully, approved for funding. Getting to know your program officer can provide you with valuable feedback and can even play an important role in determining your long-term research direction.
To help you facilitate these important conversations, ASCB has launched a new Members Only Program—Meet the Funders. These 30 minute virtual chats allow you to have a conversation with program officers from federal agencies that fund biomedical research. You can ask your question, listen to questions others may have or do both.
ASCB is sponsoring this series of virtual meetings with program officers from the leading funders of biomedical research, so you can get advice about the direction of their research funding.
Here are just a few of the agencies you can gain access to for free as an ASCB Member:
- National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS)
- National Cancer Institute
- National Science Foundation – Bio Directorate
- NIH Center for Scientific Review
- U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research & Development
